Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

At Goofing Around Kids, families trust us with their children's playtime and celebrations, and we take the same care with their personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, our indoor playground, birthday parties, camps and advertising, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1 Who We Are

Goofing Around Kids ("Goofing Around", "we", "us") operates an indoor playground and party centre at 1 Westside Dr, Unit 8A, Etobicoke, Ontario M9C 1B3, and the website goofingaroundkids.ca. We are responsible for the personal information under our control and have designated a Privacy Officer (see Contact Us) who is accountable for our compliance with this policy.

Sunshine Kids Daycare, which shares our location, may maintain separate records and policies for enrolled daycare families.

2 Information We Collect

We only collect what we need to run our programs and serve you. This may include:

  • Contact details – parent or guardian name, email address and phone number, when you contact us, book a party, register for a camp, or respond to one of our ads.
  • Booking details – party date, package, number of guests, the birthday child's first name and age, and any special requests.
  • Guest RSVPs and waivers – when you are invited to a party at our facility, the name of the attending parent/guardian, the names and ages of attending children, contact details, and your signed liability waiver.
  • Health and safety information – allergy, medical or emergency contact details you choose to share so we can keep your child safe (mainly for camps).
  • Payment information – deposits and fees are processed through our payment provider; we do not store full credit card numbers.
  • Website and device information – basic technical data such as browser type, pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools (see Section 8).
  • Communications – messages you send us by email, phone, or social media (including Instagram direct messages).

3 Children's Information

Our services are designed for children, but our website, forms and communications are directed at parents and guardians. We collect information about a child only from their parent or guardian, and only what we need (such as a first name, age, or allergy information). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we never use children's information for advertising. If you believe a child has sent us information directly, please contact us and we will delete it.

4 How We Use Your Information

  • To respond to inquiries and confirm, manage and remind you about bookings.
  • To send party invitations on a host's behalf, collect RSVPs, and keep signed waivers on file.
  • To keep children safe, including managing allergies, emergencies and facility capacity.
  • To process deposits, payments and refunds.
  • To send you news, promotions and offers, where you have agreed to receive them.
  • To advertise our playground and parties to parents in our area (see Section 7).
  • To improve our website, programs and customer service.
  • To meet our legal, insurance and accounting obligations.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

6 Sharing With Service Providers

We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed for them to do so. These may include providers for website hosting, online booking, waivers and RSVPs, email delivery and workflow automation, payment processing, and accounting. These providers must protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.

Some of these providers are located outside Canada (for example, in the United States), so your information may be stored or processed there and may be accessible to law enforcement and authorities under the laws of those jurisdictions.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect the safety of children or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business, in which case the buyer must continue to protect it under this policy.

7 Advertising & Social Media

We advertise on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram (Meta) and Google to reach families in our area.

  • Lead forms: if you submit a form inside one of our Facebook or Instagram ads, Meta shares the information you entered (such as your name, email and phone number) with us. We use it only to answer your inquiry about parties, play or camps, and to send offers if you agreed to receive them.
  • Custom and lookalike audiences: we may upload contact details of existing customers to advertising platforms in a hashed (encrypted) form so they can show our ads to those customers or to similar people. You can opt out at any time by contacting us.
  • Ad measurement: our website may use tools such as the Meta Pixel or Google tags to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads to people who have visited our site.

These platforms' own privacy policies govern how they handle your information. You can manage ad preferences in your Facebook, Instagram and Google account settings.

8 Cookies & Website Tools

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to make our website work, to understand how visitors use it, and to measure our advertising. Our site also includes third-party features, such as embedded maps and links to Instagram, which may set their own cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

9 Photos & Video

We love sharing the fun, but we will not post identifiable photos or videos of your child on our website, social media or ads without your permission. Parents are welcome to take photos of their own party and children; we ask that you respect other families' privacy when sharing images online.

10 How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected, or as required by law. For example, booking and payment records are kept for tax and accounting purposes, and signed waivers are kept for the period recommended by our insurer and legal advisors. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or destroy it.

11 How We Protect Information

We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards to protect your information, including password-protected accounts, limiting access to staff who need it, and using reputable service providers with secure (encrypted) connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.

12 Your Rights & Choices

You have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you or your child, and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Withdraw consent and unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
  • Ask us to remove your details from our advertising audiences.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.

We will respond to your request within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

13 Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our services change. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on our website.
